Ground Floor Refurbishment

Monday, January 20, 2014

Following a two week closure in January we have carried out decorating, re-carpeting and new soft furnishings on the ground floor amongst other things!

The main change that you will see is the creation of an opening between the bar and what was the brasserie. Both areas are now decorated in the same traditional inn style with antique Windsor chairs, oak settles and countryside pictures. The bar has its lovely open fire and we have fitted a stove into the old brasserie area so it is just as welcoming on a cold day. It also has a new large window to the front which can be fully opened on summers days to give a semi-al fresco experience. As well as a new carpet on the ground floor we have also restored the original oak parquet floor in the entrance way that was hiding beneath the old carpet. The resident's lounge has also had a make-over with some new furniture to bring it up to date but still retaining that cosy and relaxing feel. New colourful soft furnishings made from 100% Yorkshire wool complete the new look.
