Accessibility

At the Rose & Crown, our overall aim is to ensure that all our guests and customers enjoy their time here and have an effortless stay. All our guests are welcomed in the same way, ensuring that their individual needs are met. When someone with accessibility needs enquires about staying with us, our reservations team will discuss their needs and advise them accordingly.

Pre-Arrival

A Confirmation letter or email is sent out after a reservation has been made. Within this letter we advise guests how to get here and where to park when they arrive so that we can offer assistance if required.

Guests are also encouraged to view our website prior to arrival where all facilities are outlined in detail.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

On arrival guests park their vehicles within the main car park, but may, if they require, unload their car near the main hotel entrance or, in some cases, near their bedroom in the courtyard.

Main Entrance & Reception

All guests are given directions to their bedrooms and assistance is made available if required. The main entrance door to the Rose & Crown is 800mm and the bar and restaurant doors are 750mm wide.

Public Areas - Reception

There is a step down to reception but check-in/check-out can be carried out at the bar if preferred without any problems.

Public Areas - WC

There is a ladies and gents toilet on the ground floor of the inn. Unfortunately, these are not suitable for wheelchair users due to the width of doors and space around the toilets.

Restaurant, Bar & Lounges

Our Restaurant is also on the ground floor, as is the hotel's bar. There is a step into the resident’s lounge.

Staff are always on-hand to offer assistance regarding menu choices or wine recommendations. Should any guest require these to be described in more detail, this would be done without question.

Guest Bedrooms

There are 5 ground floor rooms in the courtyard and guests can park cars close by. These rooms are approx. 50m from the entrance to the main inn and the surface is gravel. Room 1 in the courtyard is adapted to be suitable for a wheelchair user with wider doors (850mm) and a wet-room style shower/bathroom. Room 5 in the courtyard has a shower cubicle.

The 1st & 2nd floor bedrooms are accessible via a narrow stair case and are not very suitable for guests with walking difficulties. We have 2 rooms on the 1st floor with shower cubicles (Room 9 & 12). Other rooms are shower over bath.
